- Contest is open to all Summit County youth between the ages of 9 and 19. The first place winner in 2007 may submit an entry but the entry cannot be granted a FRONT COVER first place award in 2008.
- Designs will be judged by age groups: 9-11 yr olds, 12-15 yr olds, 16-19 yr olds (age as of Jan. 1, 2008)
- Entry must be on 8-1/2 (wide) x 11 (tall) paper.
- Leave a 1/2" boarder on all four sides. (Boarder is a blank space where there is no design)
- Drawing must be in black and white. For reproduction purposes we strongly urge the use of an artist pencil, black pen, or at minimum, if using a pencil, be sure to darken lines.
- The following four lines must appear somewhere within the drawing

- July 22nd - 27th
- You Choose the Theme. Remember, the premium book includes information on open class competition, 4-H projects, general rules, admission prices, etc.
- Remember, the premium book is not JUST a 4-H book! It is used for open class competition, 4-H classes, entertainment and general fair information.

- Using a pencil, put your phone number on the back of the drawing in the bottom left corner. Do NOT put your name on the drawing.
- Fill out the entry form. Put the entry form in an envelope and seal it.
- Put ONLY your phone number and age (as of Jan 1) on the front of the envelope.
- Place the envelope and the design in a large mailing envelope. Do not fold your design.
- Entry deadline is April 28th at 4:00 p.m. You may either drop off your entry to the fair office on the fairgrounds or you may mail your entry. If you mail your entry, allow enough time so that the entry is received in the office by April 28th.
- Entries that are mailed are sent to: Summit County Fair Design Contest, PO Box 89, Tallmadge, OH 44278.

- 1st Place in each age group: Rosette and $100 savings bond (Chance of winning Best of Show)
- 2nd Place in each age group: Rosette and $75 savings bond
- 3rd Place in each age group: Rosette and $50 savings bond
- All entries will be displayed during the 2008 Summit County Fair
- Overall Winner: Design will appear on cover, recipient receives a $50 savings bond & Best of Show Rosette
- Participation Ribbons
- All entries will be displayed at the Summit County Fair. Entries are not returned.
